USS Midway var det hangarfartyg som tjänstgjorde längst i den amerikanska flottan under 1900-talet (1945–1992) och det var det största fartyget i världen under ett decennium, med en besättning på 4 500! Gå i 225 000 sjömäns fotspår på en egen rundtur med en inspelad guide som är berättad av den tidigare besättningen på Midway.

Se över 65 platser, från maskinrummet till bryggan, och 25 restaurerade flygplan. USS Midway har också interaktiva utställningar och flygplan som går att klättra ombord på för alla åldrar. Missa inte flygsimulatorerna, presentbutiken och kaféet.

Testa på att vara en del av en ”stad till havs” och utforska kabysser, befälhavarnas område och maskinrummet på det första militärskeppet för stort för Panamakanalen! Låt dig imponeras av flygdäcket på fyra hektar och panoramavyerna i 360 grader över centrala San Diego.

We had traveled by Amtrak for my dad's 80th birthday to San Diego for a day at the Zoo. Our second day in town was for relaxing by the Sheraton Marina pool. Unfortunately we managed to land on one of the only cloudy days in San Diego (one of the sunniest cities on earth!) so we went to Trip Advisor to seek out an activity that would appeal to all of us -- from the 12 yo "tween" to the 80 year old grandpa. The USS Midway Museum seemed to offer something for everyone. From flight simulators, VR experiences and a movie theater to opportunities to "try out" a bunk in the service quarters this activity is definitely worth adding to your San Diego bucket list. I would highly recommend this as a "to do" when you have a half day in San Diego. Educational, interesting, exciting and a view of SD unlike any other.

My husband and I recently toured the USS Midway and we were both so impressed. What an amazing tour. To hear the stories and see the ship where all those men lived, the planes and helicopters was so cool. Being able to listen at each station/location really brought it to life. I would recommend this to everyone.

Lovely day spent on the USS Midway. All the volunteers on the boat chip in with talks about their experience during our walk around. Very interesting day.

We truly enjoyed spending a few hours here. The grandchildren loved being able to sit in some of the planes. We were so impressed by the retired navy pilots who work on the USS Midway and share their true life experiences. Don't miss visiting this wonderful museum.

Don’t miss this awesome visit! And make sure you make time for the Voices of Midway movie for a look at the battle that changed the tide of the war. The ship is amazing and the docents are well-spoken and knowledgeable.
