I was fortunate enough to visit Laxnes farms on my last day in Iceland before heading to the airport to catch my flight home. The service provided by the people of Laxnes horse farm was exceptional. The hotel pickup was on time, and was a great form of transportation to the farm. The couple helping everyone get fitted (who I assume are the owners) made sure everyone was comfortable in the helmets, rain gear, and boots provided. The group I was riding in was a bunch of people who had never ridden a horse who had very little experience riding, unlike myself who has ridden before, it was a nice pace as everyone was paired with a horse based on your riding experience. The horse I had was such a sweetheart. I absolutley adored "Sunrise" (unfortunately I could not say the Icelandic name of the horse, but was given the closest English translation.) The trail ride was very calming during parts of the ride, and other points it was more fast paced as the horses were given the opportunities to trot through the country side. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone to head on out to Laxnes Horse Farm for an unforgettable experience that will make your trip much more spectacular.

Such a great experience. We did the horse back riding right when we landed. It was a great way to relax and really take in the scenery.

Worth the time to book this adventure!!! Beautiful ride through hills and creeks on trained and gorgeous horses. Staff was extremely kind, on time and full of fun facts about Iceland. It was a blast!

It was an amazing experience despite the setback with the weather. We had issues with the meeting point, missed the ride to the place and then had to call the tour company to let them know. They were accommodating to say they can wait for us if we caught a taxi. However, due to bad weather the road got blocked and that caused further delay. The taxi driver was so friendly as to not charge us during the long wait. When we got to the place we missed our slot and was so upset about this because we had another tour in the afternoon. Luckily for us, we were able to change the time for our next tour. Whilst we waited for our turn to ride the horse, the owners were so amazing and let us look around the place and spend time with the horses. Despite the cold temperatures, we managed to take beautiful pictures with the horses. The owners also provided us hot drinks and soup while we waited. The horse ride itself was just mesmerizing. I do not regret waiting long to experience this and the group we were with were so friendly and engaging. Highly recommend!

There is just one thing that I didn't like and it was that the group was very big. Despite, I really enjoyed the ride. My pretty horse was a bit nervous in the beginning but I think we both got along very well and he behaved perfectly fine after the first 15 minutes with me on his back. People who like riding should definitely try this. I loved the two additional gaits which the Icelandic horses have and I was very happy when we galloped on our way back. I would like to say that the owners of the farm are extremely polite and kind people too.

What can I say but

There were a lot of people on our tour so there really wasn't an opportunity for the more experienced rider in our group to ride at a higher level. But barn owners and operators were very attentive and friendly. Beautiful scenery and horses were so easy to ride and seemed well taken care of.

Excellent in all aspects. A truly memorable experience.
