Om den här aktiviteten
Hotel pickups for this 8-hour tour around the Golden Circle take place between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., with the aim to leave Reykjavik by about 10:15 a.m.

Your first stop of the day is at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir National Park. Take a walk into the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, and learn about one of the world's first parliaments, the Althing.

Next, continue heading eastward over the small mountain pass, Lyngdalsheidi, toward the town of Laugarvatn, which lies within the Golden Circle. The town has a population of about 200, and lies predominantly along the west side of the lake. The lake contains geothermal springs under its surface, making it a popular swimming spot with some warm patches along the shoreline. Keep moving along to the amazing waterfall Gullfoss or the “Golden Falls“, which is an iconic waterfall of Iceland, located in the glacial river Hvítá.

There will also be an opportunity to pick up some lunch (own expense) at the on-site cafe, just a 10-minute drive away from Gulfoss, the geothermal area with the famous hot spouting Geyser named Strokkur. Walk around the colorful area surrounded by hot springs with names like The Blower, Litli Geysir, The Handyman, and The Bucket. After that, pay a short visit to the small but beautiful waterfall Faxi (or Vatnsleysufoss). The waterfall is located on the Tungufljót river.

Afterward, drive south and stop at Kerid, a 6,000-year-old volcanic crater lake located in the Grímsnes area. It's one of several crater lakes in the area, known as Iceland's Western Volcanic Zone. The caldera, like the other volcanic rock in the area, is composed of a red (rather than black) volcanic rock. small fee of $4 to enter the area

. From here, ride back toward Reykjavik. The day finishes with a drop-off at your centrally located hotel around 6 p.m.

Lovely tour! Highly recommend! Mini bus was perfect for the driver to tell stories and listen to Icelandic music!

It was a great tour, with many special points nicely packed in one day. Our guide, Carlos, provided us with lot of information about the local sights and the whole island and with lot of jokes. I would recommend the trip to everyone.

Amazing day out on the Golden Circle Tour led by Carlos, aka Charlie, aka Steve. Picked up on time at bus stop 1 in a cosy mini-bus, much better than being crammed on an 80 seater tour. Carlos was very knowledgeable and provide relevant facts, jokes and commentary throughout the trip. We saw all the best sites and being a small tour our time spent at each place was flexible which was perfect, because at a couple stops the icy winds made it impossible to stay outside longer than 15mins which meant we could move on to the next site once out bodies couldnt take the cold any longer. All in all a great day out! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland.

This was a really nice tour, with great places to see and take pictures of. Our guide and driver was really knowledgeable, meaning we could learn quite a bit about each place and some fun facts about the country. If you're on a budget I recommend bringing sandwiches or other kinds of packed food for the lunch break the prices were not extreme but still quite high, like in most of Iceland. Come prepared with proper winter shoes and wind-stopper jackets during the winter season.
