This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Underground Naples, Piazza San Gaetano 68, 80138, Naples Italy
You will be collected in Naples at a prearranged time and location and transferred to the Naples Underground (if the option with transfer is selected). Travelling back in time, you'll descend flights of stairs in and emerge into the honeycombed underground, with its haunting and mysterious history.
Descending approximately 40 meters below ground, you'll witness a few of the tuffaceous cavities, excavated in the 4th century, and used as cisterns for the water supply of the city for approximately 23 centuries. The environment is spacious and illuminated, except for a short segment where the tour is optional, but full of charm as each person is given a candle to light their own path. The walking surface is smooth and straight. You will visit the air raid shelters from the Second World War too, the War Museum and the Hypogeum Gardens, as well as the Greek-Roman Aqueduct. This part of the tour will last approximately 1-hour.
You'll also visit in the remains of the ancient Roman Theater of Neapolis by entering through a typical Neapolitan house at ground floor. The emperor Nero kept a private dressing room here, for when he performed his shows in Naples. This part of the tour will last approximately 20-minutes.

There are two Underground Tours in Naples, both starting from the same Piazza. The above picture is used by the other tour as a lead picture. It is not seen on the tour sold by this presentation. Indeed, we were sold a tour including a pizza only to discover the pizza location was not open on Wednesday. To make matters worse, the on-site tour operator sent us across town to another pizza place, which was also closed on Wednesday. Based on the problems, Viator did refund the tour cost. Thank you - but others should be aware of the misrepresentation in the tour itself and the pizza place being closed on Wednesday.

Well organised and very interesting. Our guide was excellent. This is a very popular tour and there were lots of other groups going round at the same time as ours. The lighting was atmospheric and gave a real sense of what it would have been like to work and live in the tunnels and caverns. Really enjoyed it.
It was great to have booked the tour and be escorted to the front of the queue ready for the tour we were scheduled to attend. No waiting around. Cannot fault the fault the service.
I didn't know what to expect when I first read about this tour but I can say it was awesome. The adventure of exploring a system first built by the Greeks over 2000 years ago was beyond description. Our tour guide was well informed and nice as well.
